Poseidon, Neptune the same God with a different name. Both Greek and Roman, both with similar powers. Let's find out all about Neptune and Poseidon.
Poseidon is the Greek God of the sea, known to have a bad temper at times and flood areas when he doesn't get his way. He's also known for his love of dolphins and horses, with horses being the more well known of the two. He's one of the big three, along with his two brothers Zeus and Hades. The son of Cronus and Rhea while his siblings were Zeus, Hades, Demeter, Hestia, Hera and Chiron. He had many children with his multiple consorts. His main known object is his Trident.
Neptune is the Roman God of freshwater and the sea. He was the freshwater God before the sea God, as that came along later on. He's the brother of Jupiter and Pluto, and each of them rule a seperate area of the Earth. He's married to Salacia and they rule the waters together. Also the God of horses, he is referred to as Neptunus Equester at that point in time.
Overall, there isn't much of a difference between Neptune and Poseidon. Neptune is mainly just Poseidon, with a few small differences mixed in here and there to change them up a little bit. I hope this gave you a little more insight on the two and helped you to learn just a bit about them.
