Daphne Adair

Daphne Adair Cess, your questions are terrible for me because I never know what to pick!

-favourite greek mythology story. I found Persephone's tragic arc certainly something striking, even if it's quite a sad story. That, as well as I really liked the story of Achilles and Patroclus (does that count?) and basically everything from the Iliad and the Odyssey, which aren't... yk what, they count as Greek Mythology. I'm counting them.

If I could have a city named after me, I'd called it "Ujustlost" (the game, obviously). I'm kidding, mostly, but if I could name a city I'd name it after you instead, oh Cessair the brilliant {with shitty platonic rizz :skull:}

Moving on, would I eat a lotus flower? Honestly, depends. Daphne definitely would. Whether or not I would would depend on the day, situation, and who's handing me the lotus flower. (Don't betray my trust, pretty please).

Desdemona Wren !!!! Oh Cess. Dearest Cess. You've enabled me to be a Nerd. I'm so sorry but also not sorry at all <3
My favorite myths have to be Hyacinthus, Hippolytus, and Alcestis and Admetus. I've also a soft spot for Ganymede. Not going to lie, modern research into the cults and history that surround the myth of Hyacinthus are super fascinating! Did you know that some researchers think his story pre-dates Sparta's being taken over by the Greeks? He was one of the region's original dieties, and likely had a wife who was replaced by Apollo in the story. It's a bit unclear why Apollo took the wife's spot--one possibility is that one of the cultures mistook one of the two gods for a goddess and then just refused to correct it later--but instead of completely writing out the original wife it seems most likely that she became Hyacinthus' sister in the re-writen myth as he's almost always celebrated alongside his sister Polyboeia. Every time I see new research about it I gain years back in my life. The cult surrounding Hippolytus is also hella interesting, although I'm sadly not nearly so well familiarized with the research on it.

It would be a terrible idea to have a city name derived from 'Desdemona'. I genuinely cannot think of a way to make that make sense.

I'm kinda guillable so like. Yeah. If I can be tricked into eating insects I can totally be tricked into eating a lotus flower. That makes sense for me.
