Hallo, mellow yellows!

(That's a Dutch thing for hello!)

Welcome back to the Makin’ it Blue craft corner where we take some of your favorite little day to day items and what do we do? Well, we teach you how to make it blue, of course! So, strap on your favorite blue apron, bring your bestie over, and get ready to check out this week’s fun collection of movie goodies and start makin' them blue!

Blue Monster Popcorn!

Cookie monsterrrrrr! What better food to watch a movie with than a food that watches you?! I absolutely love the little pieces of cookies that were added as well. Salty and sweet!

What you need:

Directions!:

  1. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium sauce pan. Once the butter is melted, add 3 cups of mini marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows are melted. Turn off the heat as soon as the last marshmallow has melted.
  2. Add 3 drops of food coloring to the mixture and stir. Keep adding food coloring until the desired color is reached.
  3. Slowly pour the marshmallow mixture over the salted popcorn.
  4. Gently fold the marshmallow mixture in with the popcorn until the popcorn is mostly covered. The amount of marshmallow mixture you want to add is really up to your own taste.
  5. Place the eyes gently onto pieces of popcorn and then add the Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookies

Blue Potato Chips!

Okay, I'll admit it. These don't look as tasty as the popcorn did, but look how pretty they are! It almost looks sparkly! And if you know me, then you know that I would eat this sparkly wonder.

What you need:

4-5 small adirondack potatoes
1-2Tbsp. olive oil
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions!:

  1. Wash your potatoes, then thinly slice on a mandolin or with a sharp knife.
  2. Toss with olive oil and salt.
  3. Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet, making sure not to overlap potato slices–if you overlap, they won’t get crispy!
  4. Bake at 425 degrees for 23-25 minutes.

Let's hear from the Camp!

I was trying to figure out where my favorite spoon had disappeared to when I ran into the thief catcher himself, Mister Luke Wells! Mister Luke was nice enough to answer the fated question about his favorite blue thing in exchange that I stopped digging up the dirt around camp as I looked for my spoon. Here was his answer!

"My favorite blue thing...it would be either a blue rose or the beautiful sea."

Hmm....That is awfully similar to Ms Lucienne and Wennie's answers. Conspiracy? I think so! Anyway, he's going to give that lovely rose to Iv--*cough cough* uhh....nobody?

Movie night!!!!! Guess what movie I'll be watching? Evita! You thought I was going to say a Percy Jackson movie, didn't you

Anyway, that’s all for this week, folks. Be sure to pat yourself on the back for doing such a good job with your bestie on these snackalicious foods. Or, if you managed to make fries instead of chips, don't sweat it! You tried something new. So have a little dance party while the credits roll! And get all of your jiggles out from standing so long. Until next time!
