Class Debrief

Have you ever wondered which classes to take but wanted to know more? Well, here you are.  Each week we will look at a different class offered at Camp Half-Blood.

Today's class is Theatre

Calling all thespians! Do you like to take to the stage? Perhaps you’re born to perform, or maybe you’re interested in learning about your favorite musicals and plays. Or perhaps you enjoy hanging out behind the scenes as well. Whatever the case, there’s a class for you!

Obviously, I’m talking about Theater! This seven-year class will teach you all there is to know about the theatre and the stage, props, props, acting, lights, cameras, and action! Theater is a lovely tool in order to bring out your confidence or find out where you truly belong.

The class is taught by none other than the water controlling, handsome fork, rather easygoing son of Poseidon, Andrew Douglas! Instructor Douglas is, in summary, one of the most chill instructors at Camp. However, while keeping it casual, you’ll also learn a ton from him!

He also teaches with his assistant, Xahria Thorne! She’ll be helping out a few classes, and also a wonderful camper in general. They are quite dynamic together.

Through Theater, you’ll learn there’s so much more to it than just standing on a stage and reciting a few lines (although you’ll be doing that as well). You’ll be invited to a dinner party for some interactive theatre, you’ll do some singing, and you’ll be learning all about those Greek Tragedies.

Theater is obviously a wonderful class- so what are you waiting for? Go get homeworking! And don’t miss out on such an awesome class!
