Meeting the Minor Gods

Hello Campers, and welcome to brand new installation called, Meeting the Minor Gods! We all know about the Olympians and how they came to be in power, but have you ever wondered who some of the other gods are? Today we will be learning a little more about Hebe!

Hebe is the goddess of youth. She is a daughter of Zeus and Hera. Her siblings are Ares (god of war), Hephaestus (the Smith god), and Eileithyia (goddess of childbirth). Hebe was the cupbearer for the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus, until she was married to Heracles. She had two children with Heracles: Alexiares and Anicetus. These twin boys have the powers of youth and sports, and are immortal children. Hebe was also worshipped as a goddess of pardons or forgiveness; freed prisoners would hang their chains in the sacred grove of her sanctuary at Phlius.
