Hello, Campers, and welcome to the first edition of Exploring the Cabins of Camp Half-blood! My name is Caspian Langdon and I’ll be giving you insight into all of the cabins. The first cabin we’ll be starting with is my very own, Aphrodite! I was able to corner two of my sisters, Larana Dustfall and Delilah Kent, to give you guys a peek into the life of a child of Aphrodite.

What does being a child of Aphrodite mean to you?

Larana: Being a child of Aphrodite I guess means a lot. I have charmspeak, which I owe a lot to and without being my mother's daughter, I wouldn't have that. We have so many cool powers, and that's just great. Also, I guess having my obsession with beauty products is more accepted because of it. It's like... I sort of have a reason for it, I guess.

Delilah: Being a child of Aphrodite means a lot to me. It’s more than makeup and gossip, you know. As a daughter of Aphrodite, I’m faced with challenges and obstacles every day. Not only do I have to deal with the stereotypes that come with the title, such as being everyone’s personal Cupid, I also have the occasional person belittle me, especially in combat class. I may not be very big or strong, but I’m learning things every day. I’ve come a long way. If I had it my way, I’d have the stereotype that Dite kids are meant to be ‘soft and fragile’ broken; just look at Larana, she is the forging teacher! She has taught me that with scars can come beauty.

How well do you get along with your half-siblings?

Larana: I get along really well with my half siblings. We're all so supportive of each other, and I just love that. Plus, it's not weird to talk about romantic relationships or anything because we all get it. Even the single ones. It's really cool being one of the only grad Aphrodite kids. Maeve and I are so close, and the fact that all of our younger siblings look up to us is just amazing. It makes me feel really good about myself.

Delilah: Oh! I adore all my siblings. To my knowledge, I haven’t met one I don’t automatically love. I didn’t get the opportunity to have siblings growing up, so it’s a thrill to not only have younger siblings now but older siblings as well! I get the whole experience all at once.

What’s one of the most memorable moments you’ve shared with them?

Larana: My favorite memory is probably when a bunch of us got into clouds and started just chatting up there in the sky. That was really fun. Also if I had a memory with a specific sibling, it would either be when I first met Maeve or when I was fighting the chimera that broke into camp. I was with my half-brother, Justin Angelo, and we were fighting alongside each other. That was super cool. I really enjoyed that.

Delilah: Okay, so it might sound a little stereotypical, but the most memorable moment I’ve shared with my siblings, so far, is when I had my two older siblings, Maeve and Larana, gave me advice for my future. I was basically told not to make the same mistakes they have done. They think that because of these mistakes, they shouldn’t be seen as role models, however, I don’t think that’s true.

So, there you have it, a peek into the life of a child of Aphrodite! Make sure to look out for the next edition on the children of Nemesis!
