Flower Power

You might be wondering who I am, and why this blog has appeared on your screen. My name is Phythia Peony, and I am the best child of Aphrodite. Of course, others would likely say otherwise, but just do not listen to them. Listen to me instead! Anyways, being a child of Aphrodite comes with many perks. For one my beauty is drop-dead gorgeous, although that has nothing to do with my mother. Aphrodite children aren't just shallow and all about their looks, except me I am but can you blame me?! I mean look at me! So I am getting a tad off-topic, one of the perks is being able to make a flower bloom. In this bi-weekly blog, we shall take a closer look at flowers. Their beauty, their purpose, and of course appreciate the many different kinds. If you would like to learn about any other flowers, send me an Iris Message.

Hydrangea
This weeks flower is known as Hydrangea, it does have the common name of hortensia. Then there are a few other names too, there is sevenbark, then bigleaf, lacecap, french and a few others. The colors of a Hydrangea depend on the soil it is planted in. So hydrangea could be green, they could even be white, but the most common colors are blue, pink, and purple. For those with allergies to pollen this plant is best. That is because a hydrangea has sticky pollen, which just means unlike other pollen it cannot be moved by the wind as easily. So it is less likely to irritate you. Plus the plant even has festivals in its honor so it seems like a popular plant too. It is native to the Americas, as well as Asia. Though if you want to see the best Hydrangea flowers then you can find them in Japan and China. The flower has a few meanings which are: deep understanding, sincere emotions and gratitude. The hydrangea that have white petals mean purity.
