What are Myrmekes?
- Ant-like - except that they are the size of full-grown German Shepherds.
- Treasure Hunters - they have a lot of stolen treasure, weapons, and anything shiny. If you encounter a myrmeke, your chances of survival would increase if you throw them anything shiny you have on you.
- Aggressive - They are poisonous, have extremely strong bloodred armored shells, and can swarm up on you with other myrmekes and paralyze you . . .and then. . . I don't wanna say it.
- Avoids water - Like ants, they do not like water, or else they'd be marching up to your cabins and take your weapons. Thankfully, Zephyros' Creek runs between the camp maingrounds and the Ant Hill. So unless that dries up, they will not be attacking.
The myrmekes' lair is the giant ant hill in the camp forest. You can't miss it. It's a holey dirt hill almost as tall as treetops. Their massive loot are hidden inside its numerous passageways and tunnels. Magic weapons, ancient jewelry, shiny sports car parts — everything inside there are worth a lot. If you lost something shiny and precious, think twice before accusing Hermes' kids.
Even armored demigods can't go up against an army of myrmekes. So how do you defend yourself if you find yourself treasure-hunting in the ant hill? It's not easy and it's not guaranteed.
- Be a child of Apollo or have a child of Apollo as companion. The god Apollo threw off ants just by singing, eventually convincing the Queen Myrmeke to let him go by rapping her a song.
- Or probably just be Apollo? ✧・゚: *
- Have a giant automaton (like the legendary Bronze Dragon) to fight and squish them for you.
