Welcome to Hestia's Kitchen, where we try various recipes. No matter if you have a sweet tooth or prefer spicy and salty food, I guarantee you will find something you like. Because this is the first issue, I've decided to begin with my favorite desert of all time:
 
 

Apple Crumble


Follow these steps and I guarantee you, you will never want to eat anything else ever again.
 

Ingredients

Crumble Toppings

1 Cup all purpose flour
3/4 Cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8 tablespoons unsalted butter

Filling

2 1/2 pounds apples
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly spray an 8 or 9-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.

Crumble Topping

1. Melt butter in either a pot or in the microwave
2. In a medium bowl combine all purpose flour, brown sugar, salt, baking powder and cinnamon. Whisk to combine.
3. Add the melted butter and stir with a fork until crumbly.

Preprare Filling

1. Quarter apples
2. In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, flour and ground cinnamon.
3. Transfer apple mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
4. Sprinkle crumble mixture evenly over the top of the filling.
5. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until bubbling and golden brown on top.
6. Let cool for 15 minutes and serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
